Playing Possum

Playing Possum

I swore this tree died in the last cold snap in January. It began to get hollowed and break apart, and just when I was about to “pull the weeds” all around it, my daughter looked at me and said, “Mommy, those aren’t weeds, those are new branches.”

Upon further inspection, I noticed that she was right. We now have a very healthy set of branches growing from the root system of this tree, while the initial trunk has fallen to pieces in further decay.

Lemon Meringue Pie

Lemon Meringue Pie

We made some lemon meringue pie
It sucked but anyway I would make it with you again, anytime
We ate your lemon meringue pie
I suppose that I shouldn’t lie, it’s the only reason I came by tonight

So, while I was outside enjoying the wonderful breeze and the gorgeous cloud rolling by, I was thinking of a little tune by Jeremy Fisher call Lemon Meringue Pie . I took this shot because the little stiff points reminded me of when I used to make meringue during the summers while enjoying a delicious beer.

Clouds Are Silhouettes Too

 Clouds Are Silhouettes Too

Tonight’s sunset was extremely lovely especially with the cool breeze that was ushering this curtain closed for the night. As I was watching the blazing event, I was reminded of a shirt I bought my boyfriend a few years back – it had a zombie with a hanging placard around his neck, which said, “Zombies are were people too.”

Yes, I make odd associations between things, but that is just how my mind works. It did, however, give me a means to a title for this little piece for #silhouettesonthursday by +Siddharth Pandit.

I hope everyone has a lovely Friday! =)

Fly Me To The Moon

Fly Me To The Moon

“Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things that escape those who dream only at night.” – Edgar Allan Poe

I love to be able to see things creatively and let my imagination soar when I am just “in the zone”. Like, the other day I was looking up in the clouds and saw a panda upside down in a bin with his legs kicking around. I, of course, said this aloud and while I received a strange glance from my boyfriend, once he looked over he chuckled and said, “You’re right, I see that too.”

Today, I see Icarus wings ready to carry me to the moon!
