I am not in the midst of any snow flurries or frost-type weather, so I tried to go outside the box to blend my fledgling knowledge of lighting, reflectivity, textures, balance/imbalance, and depth to create an attractive and well composed monochromatic image of a theme – “frozen”.
I picked away at a few ice cubes from the freezer, placed them in a glass and gently tipped it over. They fell and rolled across the top of a freshly cleaned glasstop range (black and reflective surface). I had to hold one in place at one point with a tiny sliver of paper towel as it was sliding away (heehee).
I grabbed one continuously lit portable lamp and a shine through diffuser just to the side and then pulled out the 100mm lens.
It was a rather simple set-up and the processing was even shorter than the set-up, which I was thankful for. I am finding the more “proper” (using this term loosely) set-up through planning it out in advance, my processing times are going down.
So, this is my third submission to the project!
