Cracking Open My Armor
“Don’t let fear or insecurity stop you from trying new things. Believe in yourself. Do what you love. And most importantly, be kind to others, even if you don’t like them.” – Stacy London
At one point, not so many years ago, I had an armor that I clung to in order to stay safe and undamaged by the world around me. Let me tell you, safe is boring. Living life means getting damaged and cracking the armor. There is a reason that there is the term “Well Worn”. If you wear life right, it will be well worn and all those dings and dents make it more worth living.
Sure, being hurt sucks, and you might not enjoy it, but there are some things and people that are going to suck, period. the end. But, a way to think about it is like this: they may also be stepping stones towards long-term happiness; so, why hold a grudge? It certainly isn’t making the world or those twatty people feel any worse – it is only screwing up your mellow….
So, STOP IT!
Crack down that armor, strip it right off and go run free in the nekkidness of happiness and freedom.
Don’t let the world and some of the idiots that inhabit it make it any less wondrous or awesomesauce for you!
